# Rakufun > Rakufun is a Japan proxy shopping and package forwarding service. Customers outside Japan use Rakufun to buy items from Japanese marketplaces and auction sites, have them received at a Rakufun warehouse in Japan, consolidated into a single parcel, and shipped internationally. Rakufun is not a marketplace and not the seller of the items. Rakufun buys on the customer's behalf, receives the parcel in Japan, and forwards it abroad. Prices shown on Rakufun product pages are converted from the JPY listing price plus Rakufun service fees. ## What Rakufun does - Proxy purchasing: Rakufun places the order on the Japanese site for the customer and receives the item at its warehouse in Japan. - Package forwarding: customers who already own items in Japan can send them to a Rakufun warehouse and have them forwarded abroad. - Package consolidation: items from different Japanese sites and different sellers are combined into one international parcel to reduce shipping cost. - Returns handling: Rakufun can return a package to the original Japanese seller on the customer's behalf. ## Source marketplaces Rakufun purchases from Japanese marketplaces, auction sites and brand shops, including Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions Japan, Rakuma, PayPay Flea Market, Rakuten, Suruga-ya, Animate, ZOZOTOWN, Amazon Japan, Magi, Lashinbang, Mandarake, and brand or hobby stores such as Tower Records, BEAMS, Sanrio, SNKRDUNK, Bandai, AMNIBUS, Hard Off and Kadokawa. Each product page states the source marketplace, the sale format (fixed price or auction), the item condition grade, and any seller or marketplace purchase restriction that applies to that listing. ## International delivery - Rakufun ships from Japan to destinations worldwide, except Japan, Russia and China. - Available shipping routes and the final shipping cost are quoted in the warehouse when a shipping request is submitted. - DHL charges by the greater of volumetric weight and actual weight. Volumetric weight in kg = length x width x height in cm / 5000. - Only the buyer can clear customs in the destination country. Import duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility. - Items bought with Rakufun's purchasing service cannot be shipped to an address inside Japan, and returns are only accepted to the original seller's shipping address in Japan. ## Storage and consolidation - 90 days of free storage for packages purchased through Rakufun. - 30 days of free storage for packages from other platforms, leftover items after consolidation, re-stored canceled orders, and items re-packed after splitting. - After the free storage period: 30 JPY x overdue days x package weight in kg, with a minimum of 1 kg, charged until payment is made. - Consolidated parcels cannot be split back into separate parcels. Customers should wait until all packages have arrived at the warehouse before applying for consolidated shipping. ## Ordering rules - Orders cannot be canceled for personal reasons once they have been placed. Reasons that are not accepted include changing your mind, regret immediately after ordering, and claiming an item is fake when it matches the seller's description and photos. - If a seller exceeds their stated shipping timeframe by more than two days, the customer can send a reminder from the paid order's detail page. If the seller still has not shipped within 24 hours of the reminder, the customer can request cancellation; if the seller does not respond within 24 hours of that request, the order is canceled automatically. - For marketplaces other than Mercari, customers cannot send shipping reminders themselves and must contact Rakufun customer service with the order number and product ID. - Questions to the seller must be sent before ordering. Sellers who state that certain requests are not accepted should not be asked repeatedly. New requests cannot be made after the order is placed. - Purchase failures are usually caused by the item going out of stock, the seller canceling the order, the sale period ending, purchase limits on the item, or a change in the item price or domestic shipping cost. In that case the customer can request a refund from their account page. ## Returns Returns are handled on the customer's behalf and require prior approval from the Japanese seller. - The customer contacts the Japanese seller to obtain return authorization, then emails the request to service@rakufun.com using the subject line "Package Number + Return", including the member ID, package number, items and quantity to return, order screenshot, whether the whole package is being returned, whether shipping is collect on delivery, the return address, recipient name, phone number, and sender name, plus the order screenshot and proof of the seller's return authorization. - Service fee: 400 JPY per package, plus domestic shipping within Japan, which is borne by the customer. Domestic returns are sent by Fukuyama Express, Sagawa Express or Japan Post, with the carrier chosen at random. Domestic shipping cost is calculated from volumetric weight. - Return requests are processed within 5 business days after submission. - Returns are only accepted to the original shipping address. Other Japanese addresses, such as hotels or private addresses, are not accepted. - For Amazon Japan items, the return label or return ID must be provided. ## Product pages Rakufun product pages expose their factual attributes as schema.org JSON-LD in the initial HTML, so machine readers do not need to render JavaScript: - Product and Offer structured data: source marketplace, sale format (fixed price or auction), bid count for auctions, item condition, availability, pre-order status, domestic shipping in Japan, international shipping scope, delivery time, and the return policy. - Additional factual properties: manual purchase requirements, seller listing restrictions, availability notes, item specifications, and variant options. - FAQPage structured data mirroring the FAQ panel shown on the page: shipping times, cancellation rules, storage periods, consolidation, declaration information, returns and shipping fee calculation. - Related products, when the page surfaces them.
